About

An Irish technology company built on long delivery experience

An Bothán Technologies Limited was incorporated in Ireland on 24 July 2026. It is a new company, and we are open about that. What is not new is the experience behind it.

The company

Why An Bothán Technologies exists

Plenty of Irish businesses are carrying digital work that no longer fits them: a website written for an earlier version of the company, a manual process that quietly consumes a day a week, a spreadsheet doing the job of a system. The technology to fix those things is not exotic. What is often missing is someone who will scope the work honestly and deliver it without drama.

An Bothán Technologies was set up to do that work at a deliberately small scale: fewer projects, clearer scope, direct contact with the person doing the work. The name is Irish and it is kept as it is, fada included, because the company is Irish and there is no reason to soften that.

We are candid about being early-stage. There is no long client list to point at yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can offer is a written scope, a realistic timeline, references from prior professional experience where relevant, and work you can judge on its own merits.

Founder

Dermot Leahy

Founder of An Bothán Technologies, with more than 20 years of experience across digital products, ecommerce and technology delivery.

That experience spans digital products, ecommerce and technology delivery: defining what to build, working with the people who will use it, and getting it into production. The pattern that repeats is not technical. Projects succeed when the problem is understood, the scope is honest and someone stays accountable from start to handover.

In practice that means you deal directly with the person responsible for the work, and specialist collaborators are brought in transparently when a project genuinely needs them.

How we operate

Four commitments

  • Say what is true

We describe the company as it is: newly incorporated, built on long individual experience. We do not invent clients, awards or team size.

  • Scope in writing

Assumptions and exclusions are written down before work starts, so both sides know what finished looks like.

  • Build for the next person

Documentation and handover matter as much as launch. You should never be locked in by a lack of information.

  • Protect the business case

If a requirement will not repay its cost, we say so early rather than quietly building it.

Prefer to judge us on a conversation?

That is the sensible approach with a young company. Tell us the problem and see whether the answer is useful.
